Baptism is an important part of a Christian’s life in Christ. It is not only a public expression of our faith in Jesus Christ, but it is an act of consecration in which the power of God is released in us to live out the redemption that was secured for us upon the Cross of Christ. Water Baptism is a sacrament where we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
To help you celebrate this wonderful event we will provide you with invitations to invite family and friends, as well as reserved seating.
If you are a member or regular attendee at CLC and have not been baptized since your decision to serve Christ and would like to make this personal declaration, or if you would like to just receive our informational booklet on Baptism, please contact the church office at 207.449.3824 x 105.
4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. 5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
Romans 6:4-6 (NLT)
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
